Below are our current job opportunities. - Site Director: The Site Director at each Campagna Kids program will be responsible for the supervision and management of the site in accordance with the goals and regulations developed by The Campagna Center, the Virginia Department of Social Services, and the National After School Alliance. Principle duties include developing a comprehensive school-age program, overseeing the planning and implementation of daily activities, evaluating the effectiveness of activities, supervising staff and volunteers, insuring the safety and well-being of all children, communicating with parents, and contributing to the effective operation of the overall child care program.
Qualifications: All site directors will meet one of the following qualifications (as stated in NAA standards):
- Bachelor's Degree in related field with six months of program experience, including six credit hours--three in child and youth development and three in other areas related to SAC programming
OR - Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field with one year of program experience and nine credit hours--three in child and youth development and three in areas related to SAC programming
OR - Associate Degree or two years of college in a related field or equivalent certification, plus eighteen months of program experience--three in child and youth development and six in areas related to SAC programming.
Other qualifications include emotional maturity, flexibility, good communication skills, good mediation skills, and good character. All employees of the Campagna Kids Program must also fulfill the following requirements: Current TB tine test or chest X-ray, criminal background history checks and child protective services clearances, and annual training.
- Assistant Group Leader: The Assistant Group Leader will be expected to assist the site Team to create a positive learning experience for the children enrolled at the site. This is an entry-level position with the Campagna Kids Program and as such, the incumbent conducts basic out-of-school time activities with guidance and supervision in a programmatic setting by trained and experienced staff.
Qualifications: Minimum age is 18 years old. High school diploma required.
- Group Leader: The Group Leader at each Campagna Kids program will be responsible for assisting the site director and assistant site director with the supervision and management of The Center in accordance with the goals and regulations developed by The Campagna Center, the Virginia Department of Social Services, and the National After School Alliance. Principal duties include assisting the site director and assistant site director with the development of a comprehensive school-age program, the planning and implementation of daily activities, supervising staff and volunteers, insuring the safety and well-being of all children, and contributing to the effective operation of the overall child care program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
OR - Bachelor's Degree in unrelated field with three months relevant experience, three credit hours in child and youth development
OR - AA degree or two years of college in related field with six months experience
OR - AA degree or two years of college in unrelated field with nine months relevant experience, with three college or equivalent credit hours in child and youth development
OR - High School or GED with eighteen months related experience; six credit hours--three in child and youth development and t hree in another area related to SAC programming.
- Head Start Teacher: The Head Start teacher is responsible for all supervision, management, and planning for the children in the classroom. The Head Start teacher will cooperate with all service-area managers to facilitate the utilization of needed services to the children and their parents. This person is responsible for keeping accurate reports and forms on each child, and guaranteeing that all of the necessary forms are completed and properly maintained. This person must be willing to fulfill job responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy. This person must adhere to Campagna Center Policies, Alexandria Head Start Policies and Procedures, and Head Start Performance Standards, specifically 445 CFR 1304.
Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred; an A.A. degree in same field. Should have at least two years experience working with children in an accredited child development program, some supervisory skills. Must have a current Red Cross First Aid Card and a current CPR certification card. Must be willing to participate in cross-cultural training. Must be willing to pursue classes in early childhood education as required by program.
- Head Start Assistant Teacher: The Head Start assistant teacher is responsible for assisting the teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum for the children in the classroom. The person must be willing to fulfill job responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy. This person must adhere to Campagna Center Policies, Alexandria Head Start Policies and Procedures, and the Head Start Performance Standards, specifically Section 45 CFR 1304. This person must also willingly comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act as it relates to employee tasks.
Qualifications: A CDA, high school diploma, or its equivalency. Should have at least two years experience working with infants and toddlers in an accredited child development program.
