New Neighbors -- Childcare During ClassChildren--from infants through four years old--are grouped in four separate classrooms according to stages of development.
- Access for Parents: Many of our new neighbors are able to receive instruction in English and become part of a multicultural community because we provide childcare during our class.
- Benefits for Children: English is essential to self-sufficiency and prosperity in the United States. Therefore, as their parents learn English and are able to move forward economically and socially, children also benefit. Children are enriched and better prepared to enter public school from exposure to English, social interaction across many cultures, and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Child Development Program: We follow rigorous standards for safety and health, maintaining a nurturing environment, and providing developmentally appropriate activities for children in our care. All childcare providers speak English in the childcare rooms so that the children may develop English language skills. Each childcare room is well equipped and is staffed with two to four childcare providers (depending on the number and age of the children).
- Training and Evaluation: Consultants in early childhood development train and evaluate our childcare providers onsite. Instruction in both theory and practical application focuses on: child temperament and behavior, growth and development, appropriate activities, lesson plans, and health and safety. Accountability is priority. Consultants observe childcare providers, evaluate their performance, and guide them to make improvements.
