Volunteer Opportunities by Program

Mission: The Campagna Center draws together the resources of the Alexandria community to strengthen families and provide programs that help children become caring, productive adults.
All of The Campagna Center's program offer volunteer opportunities. Some of these opportunities include:

  • ESL Teacher or Tutor: New Neighbors Adult ESL and Family Literacy provides educational programs and related services to help immigrant and refugee families become self-sufficient and fully participating members of our community. We offer nine levels of adult English classes with a carefully structured and results-oriented curriculum. Our course content focuses on assisting students improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Classes are offered for 12 weeks, twice a year. We meet three mornings a week and childcare is provided for students during class. We are seeking volunteers to assist with teaching adult ESL, tutoring, childcare literacy or assisting at the computer lab. You can volunteer for as little as one morning a week.You can make a difference!
  • Homework Assistant: Do you enjoy helping children with their school studies? The Campagna Kids after-school program offers enrichment for children grades K-5 at twelve Alexandria elementary schools. One of the many programs we provide for our students is homework assistance. If you would be interested in volunteering one hour per week at one of our twelve locations please contact The Campagna Center volunteer coordinator.
  • Clerical Assistance: Do you have basic clerical experience and interested in helping one of Alexandria's most recognized non-profit organizations? The Campagna Center would benefit greatly from your assistance in mass mailings, filing, and other basic clerical skills. We are seeking individuals who can contribute a few hours a day once a month. This is a great opportunity to help our programs continue to provide services to the children of Alexandria.
