Rotary Club of Alexandria Awards $3,000 Grant to The Campagna Center

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Campagna Center announced today that it has received a $3,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Alexandria. This grant will be used to support the Tiny Titans Head Start site located at T.C. Williams High School.

“The Alexandria Rotary Club proudly supports the work of The Campagna Center,” said Rotary President James Aldige. “The Head Start program provides comprehensive services—social, physical health, mental health, and nutrition—for pre-school children. We are honored to help this important program continue service the Alexandria community.”

The Rotary Club of Alexandria contributed $1,500 to The Campagna Center. The remaining $1,500 was matched by Rotary District 7610. Funding provided by the grant will be used to purchase supplies for the Tiny Titans site.

“The Alexandria Rotary’s generous contribution greatly helps support our Head Start program,” said Campagna Center President & CEO Karen Hughes. “With these funds, The Campagna Center will be able to continue providing quality early childhood programs that ensure children in Alexandria arrive at school ready to learn and achieve academic success.”

In recognition of their continued support and involvement, the Alexandria Rotary was selected as the recipient of The Campagna Center’s 2008 Excellence in Community Service Award in the Community Involvement category. The award will be presented on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at The Campagna Center’s annual Celebration of Service Gala, held at the Westin Alexandria.
