Robin and her husband have primarily lived in Alexandria since 1973. They raised their three sons here, each of whom attended George Washington Middle School and T.C. Williams High School. Robin was an elementary school teacher with Alexandria City Public Schools for 11 years as a teacher and guidance counselor. She has also directed a local Preschool. Robin believes strongly that young people and parents can learn skills that help create positive relationships, solve problems, and shore up families, particularly in times of stress and transition. Since retiring in 2009, Robin has used her education and experience as a volunteer in Alexandria’s network of helping organizations, teaching courses to parents related to effective parenting, problem solving, emotional intelligence, productive discipline, empathy and encouragement.
