Edith Hawkins brings over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, education, public policy, and youth development to her role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Campagna Center. Her career is marked by a consistent commitment to equity, innovation, and impact at the local, regional, and national levels.

From 2014 to 2022, Edith served as Campagna Center’s first Chief Program Officer. In this role, she led over 200 staff members across more than 50 classroom sites, managed a $7 million program budget, and delivered services to nearly 2,500 youth and families annually. She was instrumental in securing over $5 million in recurring federal funding, navigating the pandemic by transitioning services to virtual platforms, and relaunching critical childcare programs. Edith also helped establish strategic partnerships with Alexandria City Public Schools, the City’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities, and local nonprofits, while advancing the organization’s efforts to examine its actions, practices, and policies to ensure they met the needs of those served.

Most recently, Edith served as Principal of Strategic Catalyst Consulting, advising nonprofits on strategic planning and program design. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President at the Forum for Youth Investment, where she created the framework for a five-state, cross-system initiative to support youth who are disconnected from school and work, built a $1.2 million annual budget, secured $500,000 in philanthropic funding, and co-chaired the organization’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

Edith’s leadership style reflects a community-driven approach rooted in empathy, strategy, and collaboration. Her ability to align cross-sector partnerships and lead high-performing teams has consistently led to stronger outcomes for children and families.

She holds a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism from Rutgers University.
