Mike Crifasi is a fundraising leader with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of nonprofit, public, and private sectors. He believes good causes are propelled by excellent strategies, partnerships, stories, and teams, and he’s committed himself to helping organizations develop them.

As CDO, Mike leads all of Campagna’s fundraising and marketing activity. Campagna is one of Alexandria, VA’s oldest nonprofit organizations, and provides educational and social development programs to over 2,000 children and families annually.

Before Campagna, Mike helped Conservation International, one of the largest environmental organizations in the world, build relationships with professional foundations and improve its fundraising research and strategy. Prior to that, he helped Case Western Reserve University, one of the nation’s leading research institutions, raise funding from public donors for renewable energy discoveries. Along the way, he’s volunteered for other causes, including as a board member for Project Discovery of Alexandria, which provides college preparation and scholarships to local high school students. Throughout, he’s tried to apply the lessons of his master’s and undergraduate degrees in English.

Originally from Ohio, Mike comes from a family of educators and has taught writing and tutored students struggling with literacy. He now lives in Old Town with his wife and their chocolate Labrador, Scotch. When he’s not working or volunteering, he might be found playing sports, exercising, reading, writing, or spending time with close friends.
