For the last decade, Clay has served as a private equity operating executive, a corporate director and advisor, and a board member of educational organizations. Clay began his career in public accounting, where he rose to become a partner at Arthur Andersen.  He subsequently served as the CFO and CEO of several publicly traded companies before entering private equity.  He served as the Chairman and CEO of a marketing logistics company for over a decade, during which time the company was sold to private equity sponsors three times. Clay has served as a board member of numerous public and private equity sponsored companies.

Clay currently serves as a board member and Chair of the Audit Committee of Enovis Corp. (NYSE:ENOV), a medical technology innovator and manufacturer focused on orthopedics.  He also serves as a board member of Scenthound, LLC and UrbanStems, Inc., rapidly growing companies backed by growth-equity sponsors.

Clay’s philanthropic interests have been focused on education. Clay served as a Trustee of the Mason School of Business Foundation at William & Mary in the early 2000’s and remains a Trustee Emeritus. He served on the Board of Governors of St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, VA for sixteen years, including nine years as Chair.  In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Campagna Center, Clay currently serves as a Trustee of The William & Mary Foundation and of Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia.
