Welcoming Week Family Storytime with the New Neighbors Program

Join us for a FREE event open to all families to share stories about their cultures and journeys to Alexandria as part of Welcoming Week 2024.
This event will showcase the many diverse stories of our community members and highlight the impact that sharing stories can have on building connections and understanding.

Planned activities include:
- 2:30 pm: Family Storytime with Hanh Bui, author of the picture book “Anh’s New Word”
- 3:00 pm: City of Alexandria Poet Laureate Zeina Azzam Poetry Reading and Mini-Poetry Workshop
- Storytelling and literacy activities for the whole family
- Free refreshments and desserts to enjoy
- Each family will leave with a special package of FREE books for their home library
This program is part of Alexandria’s Welcoming Week, a national annual campaign that celebrates the work in communities to become welcoming places for all, including immigrants. Thank you to ACT for Alexandria for their support.
