Katrina Foelsche joined Campagna Center in December 2019 as the Director of Wright to Read, created in 1979 to “give the gift of literacy” to Alexandria’s children. In this role, Katrina furthers the program’s goals to recruit and lead a superb team of tutors & mentors who work with ACPS students to improve their literacy skills and spread the joy of reading. Katrina is thrilled to be part of a program that combines both her passions of encouraging literacy and mentoring youth.

In 2023, Katrina’s role expanded to lead the New Neighbors adult ELL program at Campagna Center. A proud daughter of Vietnamese and German immigrants, she is excited to be part of a program where people from many cultures and countries can create a thriving community of friendships to support one another in achieving their goals for education and employment.

A University of Virginia alumna, Katrina also earned a Master of Education degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. Bringing 25+ years of volunteer and program management experience to Campagna Center, her career has spanned multiple positions in marketing, alumni relations and development for numerous universities, and program management for an edtech company. An Alexandria resident since 2006, she also has served as a volunteer mentor through the SOHO-Space of Her Own program since 2017 and was part of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Alexandria cohort in 2024. Katrina supports anything and everything that promotes literacy & language: she founded two mom-daughter book clubs, stewards a Little Free Library, and created an Activist Lit book club for UVA alumni.
